"The best part of our story is that God made us just for each other."
Great Smoky Mountain Engagement | Adam & Jordan | Midnight Hole
Six miles. That's how far my Apple watch said we walked round-trip to get to this beautiful emerald pool. Adam and Jordan met at their church when they were kids, and spent the majority of their formative years noticing each other and pretending not to. It wasn't until Jordan's dad made a comment of the obvious compatibility between the two, on a teen mission trip, that they really connected. Adam asked her out at last, and the rest, as people say, is history. Jordan said, "The best part of our story is that God made us JUST for each other."
Spending the day with these two was like spending the day with old friends. We like the same kind of podcasts and food, and share a love of dogs.
When I asked them, "What do you want to remember about this time in your lives, when you look back on these photos?" They answered at the same time, but both answers went something like, "That we are so happy, we can't stop laughing. We just love each other." And that's the absolute truth! We laughed the whole morning.
We parked at the base of the trail (because the campground was closed) and walked about a mile to the trailhead. from there, it was a brisk 1.6 miles to Midnight Hole, with a few stops along the way. The temperature was hovering around freezing until about 9:30 AM, when the little streams started melting and running down the mountain. For more information on Midnight Hole, check out this link.
Jordan, Adam, the way you love each other is so sweet and truly represents Christ in your lives. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness - And I can't wait for the day when you two crazy kids tie the knot!
Midnight Hole
Psalm 18:2
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Car Cuddles
On the way up to Great Smoky Mountain Ntl Park, I noted that Adam's car was impeccably clean on the inside! Adam told me that he had recently purchased the vehicle (and I got to be the first passenger in the backseat - Score!). Jordan helped pick out this SUV for Adam, and they both indicated that they were united in this decision. They picked this car together, to start their new life together with a vehicle suitable to their little family.
This set of images wasn't really part of what we had planned for their engagement session, but my heart said that this is going to be so important later. I hope they look back and remember how they made decisions together, considered each other, and showed love in every word, every touch, every choice.
