This is 25.
When Haley contacted me about doing a birthday shoot, I was immediately excited - because she's a dream to photograph, obviously, but also because she's a life-long friend from when we were kids in Sunday School, and I've been privileged to capture all stages of her relationship with her soon-to-be husband. From the very first couples session to when he invited me to shoot their SURPRISE engagement, I've had the pleasure of inserting myself into some big moments in her life. Turning 25 is monumental anyway, but Haley also marked this occasion with the purchase of a new car, which we celebrated and documented as well! We chose the beautiful Barn at Granite Ridge (a wedding venue that is available for events/shoots when not in use) for her location and were NOT disappointed! This location has an incredible bridal suite, ornate wooden staircase, and frosted garage doors that let in the most AMAZING light. During our session, I asked Haley, "When you look back on turning 25, what do you want to remember about this time in your life?" She shocked me by shrugging her shoulders. "I don't know..."
So, we made some memories. 25 is about having grown-up freedom and grown-up money. 25 is about eating cake before dinner, dancing to your favorite songs from Beauty and the Beast. 25 is about fast cars and slow kisses. 25 is about feeling beautiful, empowered, loved, successful, and effortless.
